Overview
This program is designed for students who have completed at least five semesters or seven quarters of college-level Spanish. Students take courses at the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso with local students, and can choose from a wide variety of courses offered by the University in areas such as history, business, art, and science. Students also have the option of taking language and culture courses with other international students. Students will have an academic orientation before making their final course selections at the University.

University
Since its foundation in 1928, the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso has established itself as one of the most prestigious universities in Chile. Its alumni body is characterized by the institutional seal: excellent academic and professional education, solid human values and strong commitment to public service. It is the largest university in the region with an enrollment of 14,000 students and hosts hundreds of exchange students each year. The University has a central campus located in downtown Valparaiso and different academic facilities in the surrounding area
Housing
Homestay: Living with a Chilean family will enhance the student language skills and it is a valuable opportunity to learn more about the local culture and lifestyle. The student is provided with his/her own room, X meals a day and laundry service once a week.
Pension (Boarding House): Conveniently located in either Valparaiso or Vina del Mar, pensiones will offer the student X meals a day, laundry service once a week and the opportunity of sharing with other international/local students.
Independent housing: The student may also choose the housing independently. If so, the student will be solely responsible for carrying out all arrangements and will receive a discount for the housing portion of the program price.
Renting: The student may also choose rent a house or apartment independently. If so, the student will be solely responsible for carrying out all arrangements and will receive a discount for the housing portion of the program price.
